Every dog is different — but the way dogs learn is the same. No matter your dog’s age, breed, or temperament, real behavior change is possible with the right protocol and the right trainer. Our programs at West University are fully customizable and led by CPDT-KA certified trainers, built on a science-based, welfare-first methodology that works. From leash pulling on the way to the park to potty training in a high-rise apartment, we help Houston dog owners navigate the real challenges of city life with their dog. Explore our West University programs below to find the one that fits your dog best.
Our Board & Train program is fully customizable and built around the specific behaviors your dog needs to work on — reactivity, leash pulling, fear, impulse control, separation distress, or anything else you bring to us. Our trainers create a personalized plan based on your goals and our expertise, with daily video updates so you see the progress as it happens.
Your dog stays with us at our 12,000-square-foot West University facility, which is fully climate-controlled and comfortable in every Houston season. A live-in groundskeeper looks after the dogs around the clock — someone is on-site day and night, so your dog is cared for 24/7.
Our Enrichment Boarding is the perfect boarding option for you and your dog. Every stay includes 1:1 enrichment training sessions, plenty of socials and playtime, regular potty breaks, and daily picture and video updates for parents — so you can see how your dog is doing while you’re away.

The early months of your puppy’s life are the most important for training. Before 12 weeks of age, puppies are in their critical socialization window — the period when they learn the most and build the foundation for who they’ll become as an adult dog. This is when they develop a stable temperament, coping skills, and the communication skills they need to interact with the world with confidence.
Our Puppy Kindergarten (Puppy-K) Program at West University gives puppies aged 8 to 12 weeks a safe, structured environment to start that work under the expertise of a CPDT-KA certified trainer. The focus is on socialization, communication, desensitization, kennel training, and potty training — everything they need to grow into a confident, well-adjusted dog.
Our Group Classes give dog parents the skills they need to handle daily situations and challenges. Dogs and their parents attend these classes together at our West University location, led by our CPDT-KA certified trainers.
Your dog will build confidence, learn better obedience, and improve their socialization — the everyday skills that make life with a dog easier.
Our Private Lessons are great for targeting specific concerns and are completely tailored to your dog and your personal goals. Lessons take place in your home — with or without you present. Your presence is completely optional. Our CPDT-KA certified trainer spends about an hour with your dog, working on the exact behaviors you want to address: reactivity, leash pulling, fear, impulse control, separation distress, or anything else you’re navigating.
Lessons are sold individually or in 3-lesson packages.
